TropQ Pizza (formerly TropQ Creamery and Cafe) was founded in 2013 by serial entrepreneur Ty DeBellotte. DeBellotte an immigrant from the country of Trinidad, West Indies attended Cardozo High School in Washington, DC and later played college basketball at Saint Leo University. After graduating from college, DeBellotte worked for a few Fortune 500 firms, then worked for several decades managing several large programs as a contractor (CACI) for the Department of Justice. DeBellotte repeatedly won many awards for his management skills including winning an award for procuring follow-on sales exceeding $15 Million dollars. DeBellotte’s plan for TropQ Pizza is to develop a national fast casual pizza chain based on the products (pizza, ice cream, smoothies, smoothie bowls, and fresh juices) he has developed. TropQ Pizza will also offer many vegan options as well (see menu). These products have earned high customer reviews on Yelp, Google, FaceBook, and Happy Cow.
